Adventures of the Month: September 2015

Here I am trying to keep up with how fast this year is going! The weekends came early but left so fast. Monday felt like a Friday. The Faena building is now 6 floors higher compared last month. The sun is now setting at 7pm not 9pm. The heat is starting to cool off. My internship is over and I can’t believe that it’s already my birthday month!

Time seriously needs to slow down…

Although the whole month of September only felt like two weeks, there was still plenty of good times. Here are the highlights and faves of the month:

September 1, 2015 | Food Truck Tuesdays

What better way to start the month but with carbs 😀

September 6, 2015 | Absolut Nights

Once again, I found myself stumbling down memory lane. I thought that I had moved on but when I saw the new partner, all the progress I made crashed down. It was a tough week. I couldn’t eat and sleep well. But I had no problem with pineapple juice and vodka that’s for sure.

September 11, 2015 | Miami International Ballet Festival

We got free tickets to the ballet show at Adrienne Arsht Center from my director. Gotta love the perks. We had the best seat – orchestra middle. The show was 3 hours long but was very entertaining. I ended up dancing my way out the ballet house.

September 17, 2015 | Breakfast with the Interns

The hotel hosted a breakfast for all their interns. It was their way of showing appreciation and at the same time, a farewell for the 8 of us leaving soon. Read more about my farewell blog post…

September 19, 2015 | International Coastal Clean Up

I was so happy to be a part of a worldwide green movement, the 2015 International Coastal Clean Up where thousands of volunteers came together and helped clean the beach. We picked up mostly small pieces of plastic and Styrofoam camouflaged in the sand. It’s a great activity with friends and family, you’re doing good and at the same time you’re feeling good. September 20, 2015 | Sunrise followed by a Penthouse Lunch

Swimming at the beach at sunrise isn’t new to us. To be honest, I think it’s a new routine for #APT101PH. We set our alarms at 6:45am and head to the beach at 7:00am. The beach is just a stone throw away from our house and this past few months, we’ve taken it for granted. So now, we try at least every other day we have to go to the beach. Even if it’s just to sit down on the sand and read a book or listen to the waves. We only have a few weeks left before we go in our own directions. And to all of us, the beach has been our oasis and it will definitely be missed.

After the beach, we headed to Juvia for a delicious lunch. Their Miami Spice 3-Course menu at $23++ was so worth it! I’m still working on the restaurant review blog post. Stay tuned!

September 27, 2015 | A New Beginning

Every sunrise is a new beginning. And once again, we found ourselves on the beach.

Though September went too fast, it left me with the following thoughts:

  • Failure. When your goal is to gain experience and knowledge, failure is no longer your possibility, failure is your invention. #GirlBoss – Sophia Amorusa
  • Progress. One day you’ll realize what’s important and what’s not. You see yourself as a mess months ago, thinking that things will  never recover but now you’re smiling. Happy and proud of yourself and the person you’ve fought to become.
  • No Goodbyes. But only farewell. Goodbye means the end or going away, and this only happens when we leave this world.

Since my internship is over, this month is going to be my break, something I didn’t get after college. I’m going to be full-time blogger from this day on… well at least until I get a new job back in the Philippines 😛

I am filled with excitement for October. It’s my birthday month and it’s going to be full of adventures! I’ll be going to Orlando, the Keys, Texas, Arizona, California, Singapore and finally Philippines! So much travel in one month! But hey, I’m not complaining 😀

October, let’s do this!

With love,

plain
